Touchless products in your kitchen can help prevent cross contamination and provide ease of use to our daily tasks. The iTouchless Towel-Matic II dispenser has the added bonus of conserving paper.

The dispenser has an infrared sensor that, when activated by your hand waving in front of it, advances the roll one sheet. An optical scanner recognizes the perforations in the paper towel so it knows exactly how much to unroll (you can set it for 1, 2 or half-sheets) no matter what brand of paper towel you use. Then the dispenser grips the paper towel roll so that you can tear off the paper towel without getting your greasy hands all over the rest of the roll.

Towel-Matic® has a built-in optical scanner that automatically identifies the perforations on the towel and stops right at the perforated line every time making tearing towel sheets easy and mess free. Powered by 4 D size batteries (not included) or optional AC adaptor, the batteries can last up to one year or 200 rolls of standard 80-sheet towels.

It comes in red, silver, or white for $79.95. (www.itouchless.com, www.hammacher.com)

After all, you would already be sweating while making sure everyone has their fair share of steak and BBQ meat, so to provide more hand cranked power to this BBQ Air Blower just, well, blows. On the other hand, at least you continue to do your part in keeping the earth green while being an example to the rest of your household. Capable of controlling dust and sparks, you will be able to emit a stream of constant air as long as you are well fed and your arm isn’t tired from all the cranking. The 4th of July is still a long way off, but you can’t be faulted for preparing early, especially when it retails for a mere $4.69.

Baby food is expensive, and there’s the other bit of not knowing exactly what’s in there. The Beaba Babycook Baby Food Maker is a one-of-a-kind, patented compact countertop appliance that functions as a steamer, blender, warmer and defroster to prepare fresh, healthy meals for your infant. It’s the first kitchen appliance that allows you to make your own baby food.

It starts by steam cooking vegetables, fruits and meats in less than 15 minutes, while preserving vitamins and flavors in the food. It then purees and blends them to the desired consistency. Parents can also use the the Beaba Babycook to quickly reheat or defrost precooked foods.

The bowl is made from unbreakable Polysulfone (PSU) and the cooking basket is made of transparent polypropylene (PP). It comes with a 2½ – cup capacity bowl, cooking basket, spatula and recipe booklet. The bowl and basket are top-rack dishwasher safe.

This is a nice alternative to a blender, strainer, food processor – you name it. And if you’ve gone through baby-rearing, you can attest to the fact that preparing the right food is a challenge. The Beaba BabyCook Baby Food Maker is a super time-saver as it relates to this endeavor, and you can now ensure that your baby is getting raw-food-quality, fresh nutrition. ($150, www.beaba.com.)
