LG just launched the beta release of its iCloud competitor, the LG Cloud. The service allows you to manage and consume all types of content across Android smartphones, PCs and smart TVs.

New reports are suggesting that a new “Facebook phone” is being developed by HTC, reminiscent of the Chacha and the Salsa. Facebook has agreed to buy mobile photo-sharing app Instagram for approximately $1 billion in stock and cash. It is Facebook’s largest acquisition to date, and comes just weeks before its highly-anticipated IPO.

Sony confirmed that an Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update is soon headed to the Tablet S and Tablet P. Almost a year ago, it was reported that Amazon was working on two new Kindles that would catapult them into the tablet market. The first was the Kindle Fire, a dual-core Tegra 2-powered slate, which launched this last summer. AT&T just announced that their HTC Vivid will start receiving the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) update now. iPhone 5 has been rumored to include 4G LTE for a long time. Now, according to code strings in iOS 5.1, the next iPhone will indeed feature 4G LTE connectivity.

Sony Mobile just released a video showing their new floating touch screen technology on the SM Sola smartphone. The new technology allows you to hover over the screen to move a virtual mouse pointer around, and when links are highlighted, you can then tap the screen to click on it.
