LG is preparing to launch a high-end smartphone that will rival the Galaxy S III. The handset, known as the Optimus G, has a 4.7-inch True HD display, a quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM, LTE connectivity and a 13-megapixel rear camera. The device also includes VoLTE capabilities, and will feature the company’s Optimus user interface atop Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.
LG is expected to announce the Optimus G at the IFA Trade Show in Berlin on August 31st. Earlier reports indicated that the device could be offered from Sprint as the Eclipse 4G LTE in the fourth quarter this year.
