G-Project G-Go Portable Wireless Bluetooth Speaker review (video)

With water-resistance as its selling point, design firm Boombang’s latest creation, the G-Project $69 G-Go Bluetooth speaker has hit the market with a fury.  It just became available in Target stores, and is available in three stunning colors.  This little baby not only give your portable hi-fi set-up some flair, but it also sound like a speaker that could be significantly more costly.

The G-Go also have an integrated handle for carrying it around.  Absent is any built-in rechargeable battery like many portable Bluetooth speakers have on the market today, however, you do get up to 8-hours of on-the-go use with four AA batteries.   Additionally, you can stream music to it from any Bluetooth-enabled device, which includes tablets, smartphones and the Apple line-up.  And range tops out at around 30-feet.

Additional features including a 3.5mm audio input for non-Bluetooth audio devices, and a USB port for charging any USB-compatible device.

Sound quality is pretty decent, particularly for the price.  It blasts out treble, and bass seems rich for its speaker cabinet size.  It performed very well with smaller portable devices, creating a robust surround-sound originating from low-wattage gadgets. G-Project says that it is designed to be used in kitchen, bathroom, beach, pool, patio, and other environments with potential exposure to water.   Although it’s not water-proof, it is water-resistant, and a quick test in the shower with a fair amount of water splashed on it did not affect the integrity of operation or the sound.

The G-Go also has a rugged housing to make sure it won’t break from drops or bumps.  And since it’s using the latest bluetooth A2DP technology, you’ll be able to take advantage of its compatibility with all of the new Bluetooth products out on the market.   Love the integrated handle.

As mentioned, the  G-GO Portable Bluetooth Speakers is available at Target stores for $69.
